One City // Five Ways Series Chapter Four: The Foodie

One of the best parts of traveling is getting to try new restaurants and the local cuisine. When you venture out to Delafield, you can eat like the locals do! From brunch to shared plates to custard, Lake Country has everything you’re looking for (and more).

We put together a list of six of our all-time favorite places to dine in Delafield:

Every Saturday from May to October, you can experience fresh, local produce, homemade baked goods and more from vendors at the Delafield Farmers’ Market. After you browse the microgreens, fruits and veggies, grab lunch at the market or head to the next spot on our list.

Who doesn’t love brunch? You can have French toast and a burger if you want to! Well, Belfrē has excellent brunch options on weekends, so you can have something sweet and something savory. They also serve lunch and dinner every day except Sunday. You’ll go for the food, but stay for the atmosphere–especially if it’s nice enough outside to dine on their patio.

Carb lovers rejoice! Some of the best bread and pastries in Lake Country are only steps away from the hotel. Great Harvest Bread also has delicious breakfast and lunch options–from breakfast paninis to specialty sandwiches and soup. And don’t forget to stock up on the cinnamon chip bread before you leave!

Indulge your sweet tooth with Wisconsin’s signature frozen dessert: custard! This family-owned shop makes their own custard and their specialty sundaes are to die for. If you’re feeling up to it, try The Beast, a 10-scoop sundae with four toppings. It’s the perfect spot to cool off on a hot summer day and have your dessert before dinner! (Or have dessert for dinner. We won’t judge.)

If you don’t fill up on dessert, a steak dinner is calling your name. Enjoy a relaxing meal out on their patio or eat inside in one of their intimate dining rooms. No matter where you choose to dine, you can’t go wrong with steak and seafood from Kurt’s.

We saved our favorite spot for last! I.d.’s atmosphere and menu of shared plates and craft cocktails make you feel like you’re dining in a big city when you’re actually in the restaurant off our lobby. Whether you’re on a date or out with friends, you’ll be dreaming of your dinner for nights to come. Pro tip: Don’t sleep on their Sunday brunch!

Once you’re in a food coma, come back to the hotel and take a nap in our plush, comfy beds. Or book a Room Service Relaxation package to refresh before your next meal. And if you want to get in a workout during your stay, don’t forget about be FITNESS next door!
