“The Delafield Hotel in Delafield Wisconsin is truly a hidden gem! Located about 30 minutes west of Milwaukee, it is located in a quaint little town with a main street, beautiful lake, great shops and restaurants. When driving into Delafield you feel like you’re going into a different world; the buildings, most of which were built in the 1990’s and 2000’s were specifically designed to look “antique”. The hotel is no exception, and I must admit I was fooled when I pulled up and went into the lobby. I truly thought I was walking into a 1930’s building…yet it was just opened in 2006!

It is a smaller property, about 40 guest rooms, 5500 square feet of space, and a great restaurant. The sleeping rooms are amazing….I was in a “standard” accommodation, but there was nothing standard about it. From the antique furniture, high ceilings, spacious layout, the ultimate in bedding, Plasma TV, DVD, CD surround sound system…you name it. What really sold me was the bathroom, unbelievable – each bathroom is a custom designed “Kohler Spa” complete with a huge whirlpool (with Plasma TV) and a huge shower with no fewer than 6 shower heads which surround your body. I had a hard time leaving the room and going to my meeting.

Service was top notch…from the moment I checked in; everyone in the hotel knew my name and whatever request I had was catered to within minutes.

This property rivals any Ritz, Four Seasons or Conrad – actually probably leads the pack. If you have a board meeting or executive retreat for five to thirty people, take a look at this hidden gem. Easy 30 minute or so transport from the Milwaukee airport. I’m going back just to take a vacation!”
